TURKISH LANGUAGE TEACHING SECTION

Course Title: Turkish Language for Turkish Beginners 1

Course Number: 1

Status: High School Language Project

OBJECTIVES:

Objective of this course is basically to help to students to have some understanding about Turkey, Turkish People, nation and the History. Language is designed to the basic needs of the students to enable to communicate with the Turkish people at a basic level. It is also aimed to give them the everyday conversational language.

TEACHING METHODS:

Primarily communicative approach will be applied and encouraged among them. Group work, role play, writing , listening and dictation methods will also be conducted.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOK:

Will be determined and provided by the Lecturer.

ADDITIONAL READINGS:

Will be provided by the Lecturer.

REFERENCES:

Will be maintained by the Lecturer if it is needed.

EVALUATION:

First Exam 20%

Second Exam 20%

Final Exam 50 %

Others (Quiz, HW, CW) 10 %

A: 100 - 95; B+ 94 - 90; B: 89 - 85 B- 84 – 80; C+ 79 – 75, C: 74 –70; C- 69-65; D+ 64 – 60; D: 59 – 55; D - 54 – 50; E: 49 - fails
